今日のこの曲 "Indian Summer" Brooks & Dunn

　最近 Patriot Duo って言われている Brooks & Dunn の新曲 Indian Summer 。　良く聴きますね。

9月に出る新譜 #1's...And Then Some の中に入っています。
このアルバム全30曲で二枚組、過去の No.1 Hit を集めたベスト盤に And Then Some とばかりに新曲が入っています。

　その中の一曲が、この曲 "Indian Summer" です。
二人の競作の様です。

Indian Summer って題名の曲なら Poco, Doors なんかもありますね。　普通11月位にある急な暖かい日の事ですが、、、、、

　とても印象的な Indian Summer のリフレインが記憶に残ります。

　風で草が寝てしまう位、平らで厳しいカンサスの大地
彼女の頭の中を悲しい歌が廻っている。

　彼女は私の名前を唯知っている位だけだったけど、それでも私のフットボールのプレイが好きでした。
　町中が私の最後のタッチダウンを応援していました。

　彼女は学校さえ卒業出来ませんでした。　
噂好きな町の人々の残酷な仕打ちに耐えかね、新しい人生を始める為にカリフォルニアへ、、、、

　そう、彼女は砂塵の町を去りました。

時々孤独な風の音がすると私は自分たちは何処にいるんだろう思います。
もしあの時最後のタッチダウンをしなかったら、、、、、、、、、

　高校生活最後の夏の彼女との出会いは、小さな町で噂になり彼女は去っていってしまいます。
何年か経て、私はその時の事を思い出して、もしあの時ああしていたら、こうしていたらと思い返しています。　それは決して後悔だけでなく切ないけど素晴らしい思い出なのです。
　それが Indian Summer ですね。
